Founder – Gabriel Suk
Gabe Suk is the Founder of PTE. Prior to founding PTE he spent two years teaching in China at the Middle School, High School and University Level. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa and holds certification in Development of Life Skills for Community Based Programs earned during seven months of HIV/AIDS education work in rural South Africa.
Deputy Director – Carl Wang
Having grown up in Hangzhou near Shanghai, Carl first moved to Beijing over ten years ago to study at Peking University. Since then he has traveled extensively throughout China, volunteering and working within communities affected by HIV/AIDS. Carl began volunteering at PTE over 4 years ago and was appointed Deputy Director in March 2008. He believes passionately in providing education to win the battle against HIV/AIDS.
Program Manager – Minhoo Yi
Minhoo joined PTE in 2009. He oversees the running of both HIVZX.com and our education workshops and is responsible for the recruitment, training and performance evaluation of our Chinese volunteers and counselors. Minhoo is originally from Weu Hai City in Shandong Province. He graduated from Geely University in 2005 and has gained much of his experience from internships specializing in HIV and AIDS at both the Global Business Coalition (GBC), and Church Dwight CO INC.
Fundraising and Development Officer – Isabella Dowden
Isabella moved to Beijing in early 2009. At PTE, she works to raise funds for PTE by soliciting new donors, cultivating current donors, and identifying prospective donors. She also provides the Deputy Director with support on strategic and work planning. Prior to working for PTE, Isabella spent three years living, working and studying in Southern Africa. Isabella holds a Masters of Philosophy degree from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the London School of Economics.
Designer – Will Gray
Will moved to Beijing in 2008, after living in Taipei, Taiwan for more than a year. He graduated in interactive media in 2006, and following a successful period of freelancing in the UK, made the step into Asia. Will’s work is now primarily in the online media sector where he acts as a consultant to various media groups and independent clients, advising and project managing. He often works in the non-profit sector providing design and online web media for various NGOs, including work for corporate social responsibility and HIV/AIDS.
