Mission, vision and values

Our mission

Our mission is to empower young people in China with the knowledge and ability to effectively respond to the challenges of HIV/AIDS.

Our Vision

Universal access to full and accurate information about HIV/AIDS in China

Our values and core commitments

Our actions are guided by the following values:

  • The lives of all people are of equal value.
  • Everyone has the right to access HIV information and service they need
  • Everyone should be able to live happy and healthy lives, free from stigma and discrimination.

To uphold these values, and fulfill our mission, we commit to:

1. Enable people to make informed decisions and practice healthy behaviors. People need knowledge to respond effectively to the challenges of HIV.

2. Challenge stigma and discrimination to HIV/AIDS. HIV-related stigma and discrimination undermines efforts to respond to the HIV epidemic, creating barriers to prevention, testing, treatment, care and support services.

3. Implement education programs that are socially and culturally sensitive. Run programs that take into account different age cohorts, socioeconomic backgrounds, education and environment. Devise education programs based on Chinese culture and local practices.

4. Ensure that our programs are of a high quality and are delivered by well-trained individuals. It is imperative that our staff and volunteers have a sympathetic understanding of the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.

5. Stay accountable to the people we support and to those who support our work. We will always act in an open and transparent manner.
