No single organization or approach is able to tackle the HIV epidemic on its own. PTE is engaged in a number of innovative partnerships, supporting cross-cutting projects that involve a range of activities and approaches. These currently include:
Compassion for Migrant Children (CMC)
PTE has recently partnered with CMC, an NGO founded in early 2006 to help China’s urban migrant children, primarily through offering social and educational programs. CMC is a nonprofit organization founded in early 2006 to help China’s urban migrant children, primarily through offering social and educational programs. CMC also seeks to be a ‘think tank’ for all things related to migrants and migrant issues in China. CMC collaborates with organizations and individuals who share the common vision of giving every migrant child a future and a hope. From September 2009 we will offer health and sex education classes designed to provide young people between the ages of 15 and 24 with knowledge about personal, social and health matters, including HIV/AIDS education.
PTE is working with AIESEC providing our train-to-teach workshops to their volunteers. This will enable AIESEC to role out HIV education programs to migrant communities in urban areas across China. AIESEC is the world’s largest student-run organization. They has been active in China since 2002 and over the last seven years their network has expanded to10 cities and more than 30 universities with more than 1400 members. They provide a platform for young people to build extensive personal networks and explore leadership opportunities.
